Community Involvement
Beer for the cause!
We sell beer to make money and to make you happy. But when possible, we like to donate to what we consider -- others may not -- worthy causes and organizations. Spotlighting our generosity is more than shameless self-promotion (look how great we are!). It's also a means to promote people, organizations and causes and maybe encourage other businesses to do the same.
See below for a partial list of such organizations (we've been a tad loose in our record-keeping before Sue (owner and bookkeeper of Fremont's Portage Bay Goods) took control of our books so I'm reconstructing from memory).
Evening of Sustainability, Penguins and Networking, Sept. 10, 2009: beer donation.
1st Annual SCP Holiday Gathering and Partner Recognition, Nov. 16, 2009: beer donation
Speedy Beavers women's mountain bike team
You have got to check out their promo material! Fucking kick-ass!!!
We sponsor them (one of them, Karen, is my sister-in-law) by giving them beer and swag in return for publicity and upping our coolness factor.
